It’s the same, but different.

I made my business’s (static) website years ago, and except for one incident where I had to pay a guy on Fiverr $20 to fix a graphics problem, it was pretty easy to set up. Now I want to do a Woocommerce site. I have the basic stuff set up, and I am downloading images, etc. One question: How do I make all the CRAP go away? Five hundred apps want to be downloaded, lots of apps need to be turned on, reset; whatever, and, of course, wordpress itself needs updating. Every. Single. Day. Can someone advise me on how to make all this stuff go away? It seems like it was an easy process before…… any advice would be greatly appreciated

  1. *”how do I make all the CRAP go away?”* – what are you referring to? Link, screenshot? We aren’t mind readers.

  2. Step 1: hire someone to do it for you

Step 2: focus on selling products instead of building websites

  3. Host on WP Engine and opt for their Smart Plug in and theme manager. Or, you can enable auto updates in WP Admin under Plugins. Either way, updates are vital for security and bug resolution. Get rid of themes and plug-ins your site isn’t using as well.

  4. Hard to say exactly, but judging from the description your issue might be coming from using too many and too shitty plugins. Try not to go above 5 for a simple and 10 for more complex site. If you feel like you can’t do what you need with this, hire a consultant who will tell you what’s the best way to achieve your goals, or a developer who will additionally make it happen.
