Hi, new to the subreddit, set myself on fire and I’m looking for directions toward water.
I accidentally deleted stuff I hadn’t backed up yet… and my WP broke. I have reinstalled the core files, and the site sort of lives, connecting to the old db.
Tried to get bbPress back back first, installed the plugin, but trying to access it brings up completely empty pages.
I’m assuming that other missing plugins… or themes is really what I’m suspecting… are keeping the display code from generating.
I want to keep my posts, but I’m sure I can export those. I’d like to keep the bbPress posts, too… do I need to recreate the old theme environment to get back to viewing those pages?
I know my way around PHPMyAdmin (about the way I know my way around a command shell, which got me into this. Please enunciate clearly on any advice)… part of me wants to delete tables associated with plugins I don’t intend to reinstall, but at this point I assume I’d only make it worse.
Like I say, new to this subreddit… I’ll be doing some poking around to see what I could find. But I wanted to post this to see if it rang any bells with anyone… If you can point me towards any resources, or make suggestions for a better path, I appreciate them all.
