Large WordPress/Woo sites using HPOS: Request for information from plugin author

[ad_1]

I am an author of the free WordPress database performance optimization plugin [Index WP MySql For Speed](https://wordpress.org/plugins/index-wp-mysql-for-speed/). I’m posting to ask for help.

If you operate a large WooCommerce site, especially with their high-performance order store (HPOS), I would very much like to hear from you about your database bottlenecks and slow queries. I’m in the process of working out how better to support recent versions of WooCommerce. It’s always best to do database performance design based on real-world situations.

I am not trying to sell anything, simply hoping for information.

Please DM me if you can help. Thanks.

  1. Awesome to see the actual author of the plugin on this subreddit, we always use your plugin for our clients and their webshops to create indexes and can definitely see improvements. Is there anything i can test for you or request logs from the db host to help you?

  2. I respect this man. We have a big site that has over 200,000 orders but still haven’t made the switch to HPOS. I can provide some data once we switch (in 1-3 months).

  3. Great, thank you for your kind words and offers of help.

There’s a feature called “monitor” in the plugin. Please, when you’re up and running with HPOS, use the feature. Capture a few minutes’ worth of queries when your site is actually doing stuff with HPOS — maybe accepting or shipping orders. Then upload the captured monitor and open up a support topic to let me know the upload id. This is a bit like Query Monitor, except that it grabs queries from multiple page views (and cron runs and API calls and everything).

This records the queries and their timing, so I can see what’s slow and what’s not.

This same thing will work for any site operations. So if you have slow stuff, capture a monitor while you’re doing that slow stuff, then upload it.

    Thank you!
