Looking to get into designing and maintaining websites. Do you guys have any course recommendations so I can be knowledgeable about all things websites?

[ad_1]

Willing to put time and money into it, not necessarily a bachelors degree unfortunately because I do have a full time job but online courses or even classes from a college. Would love to be pointed in the right direction because this stuff does genuinely interest me but when I talked to a professional web dev yesterday I realized just how much I didn’t know hahah.

Thanks

  1. I’m going line by line through John Duckett’s highly recommended *PHP & MySQL*.

*Apache Essentials* by Darren Harkness has been illuminating.

    Solid SQL skills help.

    I think.

  2. As I have already said in this subredd

Maybe you can start from here

Then find some nice theme like Kadence or GeneratePress, add KadenceBlocks or Generate Blocks (and something like Greenshif or b-blocks.)

I suggest GeneratePress and Generate Blocks.

not necessary, you can stick with FSE; it’s even beter to learn ‘clean WP’, with default theme, as starter

    For HTML/JS/CSS

    and of course

Find good hosting, something like linode, vultr, digital ocean; become familiar with basic server and webserver, DNS, firewalls, sql etc

both of them have ‘one click’ WP installers, even OpenLiteSpeed/CyberPanel

Half a year would be enough to catch the basic

Do not rush, avoid ‘click&try’. Read manuals.

And welcome to the club. It’s like hotel California, could be heaven, could be the hell.

    Succes.
