Hey y’all as the title says I’m losing my mind trying to find out whats happening with my site.
I cannot login to my site with the correct username and password and when I click ‘log in’ the page refreshes and it clears the user / pass fields. No errors or anything. Just refreshes. I thought it might be something with my site itself so I restored a backup from when I could for sure use my credentials and its doing the same thing.
Is this a me problem or a WordPress problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did you try to login in incognito mode? It might have to be with cookies.

The article mostly says to use many of the default troubleshooting methods. Do you have access to the website host (file manager, phpmyadmin, etc?)
An option to try would be to go into your database. In ‘wp_users’ change the password for your user id. Use MD5 as the encryption. and save it. Then try to log in again in incognito mode.
Probably need to temporarily delete the .htaccess file in the root directory.
Or temporarily rename the plugin and theme folders in the wp-content/ directory.
Name the folders to plugins-old and themes-old and you’ll be able to login without any issues. (this will break the front end of your site until you change the direct names back)
