Hi guys, I had a eureka moment about creating a second hand website like craigslist or gumtree, but targeted at my niche. I have no coding expierence and will most likely need help from plugins. If you had a similar experience or any tips and tricks, please share! 😀

Is this a hobby site or something you are serious about developing? You may find that a bunch of hodge-podge plugins installed on your site are not sustainable in the long run. Plugins get abandoned all the time (or bought out), become paid etc. When that happens, you’ll most likely need to hire a team of developers to keep the project afloat. (Or, at the very least, migrate it to a new plugin). You’ll need to maintain the site for as long as the site exists. I’m not trying to burst your bubble; this is just a reality check. Kijiji, Craigslist, etc, are huge companies, with entire development departments.
To prove my point, this plugin was just deprecated: https://wordpress.org/plugins/another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin/
If you still want to give it a go, this is the first one that came up (I haven’t tried it myself):
Just search for “classified” plugins; there are so many of them. Try them out at [https://playground.wordpress.com](https://playground.wordpress.com) or download LocalWP and test locally.
If you get a well-known paid one, you’ll at least have customer support.
It’s not worth the effort.
I might use a plugin like WCFM or Dokan
The number of potential clients asking me to knock off something already existing is outright silly. Ebay? Craigslist? They don’t have the money, time or even the experience to manage it. Hard pass man, find another hobby.
Unless you have a marketing budget of at least $20K, your site will be a ghost town and won’t generate enough money to keep it running.
