By mistake I asked this in the product photography subreddit so I’m placing it here instead.
I want to get some help in finding a good, reliable and fast way to set up my workflow in woocommerce.
I sell vintage one off products which are second hand or previously owned design objects.
Since I do absolutely all things myself, I need an efficient way to work. I’m currently building my first webshop in Woo.
Even though I enjoy learning SEO and doing backend work on the website, my strength lies in buying and selling and a lot of my time is spent on sourcing good and unique items.
And since I do absolutely everything myself, from website, product photography, to keeping the books, answering emails and phone calls, packing and shipping to all other aspects of running a business, as a newbie of running a webshop, (had a brick and mortar earlier and have been selling over social media for years) right now I need help with this:
I have thousands of objects waiting to be photographed and uploaded so a structured workflow for managing stock to product photography to the uploading of the images and to do all neccessary SEO etc. for products is essential.
I need to find ways to streamline everything and save time, so I can
1. Focus on buying new stock and to work on customer relations
2. Everything else
Even though I want everything to be as good as possible, there are only 24 hours in a day so I would be satisfied with ”good enough” to start with.
It’s so easy to get lost in every little detail right from the start but the way I see it, better to get up and running and hone the skills and details down the road.
Any tips from you seasoned webshop owners? Plugins? Workflows? Other ways to get efficient with product photography and uploading and managing products in woo?
A last thing, I have had a natural animosity to spreadsheets but I know I have to bite the bullet and use them. Are there other systems I should use? Bar code readers or similar?

1. Create a system unique product ids
2. Use ids at the beginning of the photo name fit organization.
3. Automate the resizing and optimization of your photos so you can do them in batches.
4. Create descriptions and prices on a spreadsheet using the ID numbers to keep track of each product.
