I have amended the woo checkout page to make the user tick a box not only to agree to the website T&C’s and privacy policy but also to agree to additional T&C’s for the products we hire out.
Do you mind sharing more information on how you changed that?
Did you use a different plugin? Or was it custom code?

Bit of a workaround, I amended the standard tickbox line in the theme customiser to also mention about the hire conditions. Using the Divi theme builder I then added a module underneath that section with links to those terms and conditions.
