I'm hoping to get some insight into how WordPress Blocks (Gutenberg) has worked out on large multi-site installs. We have several hundred WordPress sites.
We are currently using a drag-and-drop builder but are looking at planning what we might use in the future. Our group has brand standards for color and visual elements that will need to be enforced. Right now we are looking at coding custom ACF blocks so we can keep the look and functionality consistent across sites.
Has anyone rolled out Blocks at their company on a multi-site instance? If so, are there gotchas when rolling out custom blocks to a multi-site? Are there gotchas when updating custom blocks after launching them? Once custom block code is updated will those changes go out to all sites/pages using that block?
Are WordPress Blocks even a good fit for a multi-site with brand standards to enforce? It seems like WP gives users a lot of control to move and/or break visual elements. Is there a way to lock it down?
I'm thankful for any insight the community could share. Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can share.
