WP-Admin: Shows Text for Menu

[ad_1]

Hi

I can’t and don’t want to access the dashboard so if you share a screenshot(s) it may help to see what you see

I don’t know how the images will appear to you but I’ve pasted two images to this message. One image will show a “Loading” screen. This was me attempting to access the File Manager through the text menu system, which is the other image that I have pasted to this message.

Thanks

Hi

The images are very helpful but I was expecting to see something like in this page: https://projectdmc.org/documentation/article/dashboard-screen/

On the site frontend (as an ordinary visitor to the site) all seems okay and I can see your WordPress version is up to date (6.6.1) and PHP is 8.1.28

Q. did you get the dashboard as per the above link before? and if you did, when did it end up as in the image? Is there a Pages list in the structure? If there is, that’s where I would expect to open pages to edit if that’s what you are attempting.

To see what may be happening, just before you select a link that goes to a 404, can you see the URL? usually at the bottom left view in desktop when the cursor hovers on the link, if you do see the URL, are you able to note it?

Finally, can you think of any recent update or change before you started getting this issue?

As you can see, I do see a valid Dashboard screen. But if I click on File Manager, I get the text menu that I posted earlier.

If I click on Plugins (https://troop758.org/wp-admin/plugins.php), I get Oops! That page can’t be found.

If I click on All-In-One WP (https://troop758.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ai1wm_export), I get text menu with the All-In-One WP interface at the bottom of the page.

When I click on Pages (https://troop758.org/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page), I get Oops! That page can’t be found.

No recent updates or changes. As you can tell, I upgraded to 6.6.1 on 8/6/2024 (after a backup) and updated all Plugins.

Thanks

As a first step, if not already done, clear the browser cache or attempt to use in a browser you haven’t before so one with no cache from this site

If this doesn’t resolve, if not already done, Dashboard >> Settings >> Permalinks and Save Changes (without any changes)

I switched to Chrome (I was using Safari before) and logged in to the site. Now I see the text menu even on the Dashboard.

Click on Permalinks (https://troop758.org/wp-admin/options-permalink.php) takes me to the Oops! That page can’t be found site. I can’t click on Save Changes.
