Need help adding ‘subscribe’ feature on WordPress blog with Elementor editor (free version)

[ad_1]

Hi guys! I’m stuck at a roadblock that I can’t get past. I have a website/blog with WordPress. I started to use Elementor yesterday to edit special features on my homepage.

However I cannot figure out a way I could somehow add a subscribe feature so my readers can get email notifications of my blog posts etc. (I am fully aware the Elementor Pro version has this feature however I can’t justify paying that amount of money to upgrade for one feature right now in my blogging journey.)
Anyone know of any tricks or ways to get across this by using the free version? Such as turning a ‘button’ widget into a subscribe feature… but then how does that link to email etc.

I’ve looked up almost every youtube video, or other forum to figure it out.

I have even tried to turn my home page back to WordPress editor, add the ‘subscribe newsletter’ block there, which works (but I lose all my Elementor special features.) I then turn it back to Elementor editor hoping the subscribe has followed across but it hasn’t ☹️.

Any ideas or help to work around this???

Thank you in advance

  1. There are dozens of subscriber form plugins for newsletter services, like Brevo, Mailchimp, etc. All free.

  2. I built a custom setup that does this, feeding signups into a Hubspot list. When a new blog post is published it triggers a bulk send to that list using a custom transactional template. The same thing is used for product updates in a custom post type too. It’s all lean custom code though, and the only part that would be relevant for Elementor would be the actual signups UI.

It could be done entirely in WordPress in a clean way with a custom database table for storing signups in place of Hubspot.

    Living example exists at:

Form is in the sidebar on RH side of post content.
