Hi everyone. I’m really new to freelanceing. Like I got my first client around 4 months ago new. So I’ve been developing a site for this client for 3 months now and I’m kind of regretting it.
For context I created a proposal and a contract that are both signed for the development of a site. The business is a deli and cafe. The duration was for 6 to 7 weeks. Unfortunately because my client moves slow and I also over estimated the intensity of the development it took 2.5 months to complete. The site it done and contains all the pages and functionality that we initially agreed on.
Not gonna lie because he was my first client and I wanted to make a good impression, i severly underpriced the site and I over developed the hell out of it. Basically under promise and over deliver. Which I’m totally fine with because I saw it more as a learning experience instead of a gig.
Now though since I site is done in my eyes I sent an email to the client asking if he wanted to proceed to the final stage of moving the site to his hosting provider and making it live.
He said that he has a couple of changes he would like to make. We spoke and I agreed to make the changes which I did and updated the site. I then again asked if we were done and again he issued more changes through email and said that he is gonna have a third round of changes after this one.
I’m really getting annoyed because the changes are small and don’t really impact the experience of the site. Also I feel like he has gotten his money’s worth and should move to the final stage
I’m bad with communication and have bad social anxiety. So confronting him or making my frustrations known is kind of hard. I’m really contemplating just going dark and cutting all communications with him and walking away. This should be fine seeing as I didn’t ask for a down payment and he hasn’t put any money down. Also all the files are on my computer and he can only access the site from the browser but has no access to any of the accounts or files.
So this is where I’m at. I guess i just want to see if anyone has experienced this and should i go with my gut feeling or am i over reacting. Also sorry for the long post but just wanted to give all the details.
