Need to either disable (not delete) my wordpress, or set it so it can only be viewed by registered members, and be able to control who is registered.

I have a wordpress site through ionos for the local game shop I own. There are a lot of troll lawsuits currently targeting LGS for ADA violations on their websites. Until it is defined what ADA accommodations we are required to have on our websites (I have no issue making my website compliant, but currently there is no guide line, even shops that have compliant sites are being targeted) I want to either hide/disable my website, or control who can see it.

I know of half a dozen other LGS that have gone out of business because of these lawsuits (from what I have seen, from the same couple).

  1. A membership plugin can do this e.g. [https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-membership/])

Note that your SEO ranking will tank if your site is locked behind a login.
