Recently my job has asked me to maintain and update its WordPress site. I was told it was as simple as clicking “edit page”, making changes, pressing “update” and voila. It hasn’t been.
First thing I should mention is that I was told not to touch the plugins because it could mess up the site. I haven’t touched them except for W3 Total Cache which I only did to clear the cache.
The problem I’ve had is that any changes I make don’t show on the preview and if I go back to the editor it’s like they were never there to begin with. I’ve tried clearing the cache and refreshing the page but it doesn’t work. I’ve since tried remaking the page from scratch but ran into the same problem at the very end. The only thing that happened when I was finishing the page is that one of my coworkers jumped on and tried to make edits.
My questions are:
Is this a plug-in issue?
Is this a theme issue?
Is this a permissions issue?
Is this a webpage character limit issue?
