Hello everyone,
so my dad is running a small company and their website is like 10+ years old so they want a new one.
They told me i can choose completely freely if i want to use a content management system and if yes, which one. So as i have a wordpress website myself i am tempted to go with wordpress.
Their website is mostly just information about their company, so really nothing fancy, but i would like to make it really dynamic and exciting!
Now an employee of my dads company made me a test server and a FTP directory, that is currently completely empty.
I now require the first steps to do.
How can i connect wordpress to this FTP directory? Also how should i do the prototyping (just pick a theme that would suit their needs? or should i do a ui prototype in adobe XD first?
I also was thinking about going with ELEMENTOR? Any thoughts on that?
I am pretty good in php, html, javascript and sql (1 year working as a website developer/ full stack developer) … but the server side thing is always hard for me
really i just dont know where to start, thanks in advance!

I’d encourage you to think about if the people viewing the site want “dynamic and exciting” or if they just want the information presented in a clear and easy to navigate way.
Most informational sites don’t need to be “exciting” in my experience. They just need to be designed well.
avoid Elementor
I will go this route:
Choose good theme and read it’s documentation. I suggest GeneratePress and Generate Blocks.
