Nelio Content simplifies the process of sharing your content on social media. As you can read here, there’s different types of automations included in the plugin. Essentially, there’s publication messages, which are shared when the post is published (either by publishing it directly or by scheduling it for a future publication), and there’s reshare messages, which reshare content that had been published in the past. The names are pretty self-explanatory 🙂
When it comes to publication messages, there’s a few things you can do:
(a) You can create them manually and they’ll be shared at the correct time once the post has been published.
(b) You can request the plugin to generate them automatically after you’ve written the post. To do so, you have to click on the “Fill Timeline” button that’s available in the Social Media section of your post editor.
(c) You can do nothing and let the plugin publish one single message per network when the post is published. This option, however, will only work if you’re subscribed.
Is it possible that you’re using the free version of the plugin and expected (c) to work? If that were the case, please try to either do (a) or (b). If you did, please get in touch with us via email (support at nelio software dot com) and let us know the site where you’re running the plugin, so that we can further investigate what might be wrong.

i am using the free version and was, as you correctly assumed, trying to do (c). It was not clear that i had to do these manually when using the free version.
