I haven't changed anything on my site recently, but today when I logged in in order to make updates, nothing will load. The "sites" page just spins endlessly, the plugins page "failed to retrieve plugins," and even my account settings page is just an endless load attempt with no content.
Just went to the help tab and it won't even allow me to post in the forums, presumably part of the same general f*ckery. It does, however, show me as logged in.
I'm definitely not some wordpress expert, so my site is pretty simple / relies on template stuff.
Any idea what's going on / how to deal with this? I've restarted chrome and my computer but so far nothing has changed.
If you haven’t made changes in a while and there is no transactional data, you can always restore your site from a backup. Your hosting provider may be able to help you with this and decide on a good restore point.
It likely spun out of control for 2 reasons:
– hacked
– lack of ongoing updates to themes/plugins
Once you get it fixed you need to ensure you stay on top of updates.
