OMG is it impossible to find a simple block theme that does super basic things

I just want a one-column block theme, minimialist, no bells/whistles, that allows embedded video to play from the post listing.

GeneratePress almost does this all for me but the free version blocks access to the block editor so I can't work with it, or hack the post loop a little bit.

If anyone has a shred of assistance/suggestions please feel free to let me know. thanks
