Once the site is built can we part ways?

[ad_1]

My dad recently paid a group to redo his website, while the site looks basic he seems happy.
While I was fixing a couple of things I noticed the builders used elementor pro and woolentor, I can’t see what elements were used outside of some basic product banners.

I am very new to wordpress and I would like to secure his site by changing all the contact details to his own, will this cause issues with those paid plugins later or immediately?

I am assuming the company is newish given the price was very low but they also have made a bunch of simple mistakes launching the site.

Thanks for any feedback on this.

  1. If they used free versions… no issue. If they used licensed versions – once that licences runs out you’ll need to buy your own. Usually 12 months.

In either case, you can remove them, their accounts, change contact details – whatever you like.

If they used elementor they probably just spaffed it out in 10minutes… hence cheap. Learning it and improving it would be a good plan.

  2. If you change over the names and licenses, you’re going to immediately break the license.

Best case scenario is that you’re unable to update to new versions. Worst case is everything stops working.

    I’d recommend:
    – changing your login credentials for everything (cPanel , ftp, WordPress, ssh, etc)
    – removing their accounts/access
    – leaving their licenses (they can’t use either one of those two to log into your site)

  3. WordPress is like a car… eventually it breaks down and it requires maintenance every so often.
