So I’m revamping our practice website. I last updated it back in the days of WordPress 3 or 4. WordPress 6.3 looks fantastic and I’ve updated th site to 6.3
Now I’m redoing the pages – but this template / pattern story is doing my mind in. I can’t find a useful tutorial to do what I am trying to do. So we have multiple partners, each of whom has their own page on the site. Ideally, the base template for these should be the same. I read through some websites, and make a pattern which has the page title, an image holder, some headings (which will be repeated on each partner page) then empty list blocks under each heading.
Now my understanding is that you should be able to reuse the pattern on multiple pages and then enter the individual’s information on each page. But I can’t – I keep getting the error message that I have to edit the template. Which will change the info on every pages it is used.
Have I completely misunderstood what patterns and templates do? Is there any way to do this in WordPress?
