PeepSo Community Plugin Unauthorization

[ad_1]

Do WordPress plugin developers have a right/self-authorization to access plugins created by them for any reason? If you would take a look at the short video recording and the screenshot I submitted to PeepSo, you can see the type of issue I’m experiencing with them and their PeepSo community plugin.

  1. If the plugin is free and available on wordpress.org, you can report it to the plugins team there and they will investigate. Because the answer is no, it is not allowed.

However, if the plugin is available on some other site and not on wordpress.org, anything’s possible. Plugins do not run in a separate sandbox, they run at the same level as WordPress or any other code you run on your website. And they can do anything they want.

  2. It depends where the plugin was sourced from. Only plugins in the repo have to abide by any rules/guidelines: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/developers/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/developers/)

I’m not really sure what evidence your video was supposed to show of someone accessing your site without authorization? Your video is just showing a loading icon.
