Please tell me about your worst experience creating a site for a client.

I’ve had a bad day dealing with a client that has absolutely zero tech literacy. It’s the most frustrating situation I have ever had in over twenty years of doing web/software related work. I built an entire site using stand in dummy text and images that could all be replaced as needed. Menu system with all the important pages to grow, and their graphics and video for those designated pages/menu options.

Client basically couldn’t understand the concept of a website, and how it could evolve with content they will soon be providing to fill the pages with their relevant info. Am I going crazy or is this normal now? And the kicker, they wanted a website asap because they have “important presentations” to present to their client and the site I built actually included the two elements that were paramount to their needs. I just needed to adjust the menu with only those pages and not show them the rest of the menu items and they would have been happy.

They don’t want to pay for the site now. Should I charge an extra fee to transfer the domain name to the next victim?
