Creating a website for sharing stories, need help in choosing the right approach. I’m incredible new to web development (have done videogame coding but that’s a different kettle of fish), so am not really sure where to go to be honest. I’ve be learning about custom post types / custom fields etc. but there is a lot to take in. Any recommendations on good plugins and good tutorials would be greatly appreciated.
The website itself will not need to be particularly complicated, purely a simple means of users logging in, uploading and/or editing stories and being able to search for and read through other peoples. I’m aware that there are plugins in place that will take away a lot of the complicated stuff I need being completed, but am not sure which ones (am willing to spend money to cut corners if required)

Forgot to mention that I’ve been playing around with the plugin ‘Ninja forms’ and have managed to set that up to save to a database, but I’m not sure how efficient it is. Tried asking chatGPT about it but its not been helping too much. Looks like im supposed to be using custom post types, but that seems quite complicated to implement with forms (But I’m not sure). ‘Pods’ is another plugin i’ve been looking at, but any advice would be appreciated on any of this.
