Specifically one that offers payment gateway integration (Stripe preferred) in the free plan. I’ve installed so many only to realize after the going through the whole setup wizard that you have to pay to connect a payment gateway. I’ve tried ARmembers and Paid Memberships Pro— I can’t remember if they let you connect payment for free but found them both to be super clunky and offer way more features than I need (not the end of the world if I must). The woocommerce memberships is $teep, as is MemberPress, Paid Member Subscriptions and a few others I looked into. The only one I’ve found to meet my needs without the price tag or bloat of extras is ProfilePress, which inexplicably crashes my site whenever I activate it (seriously, I’ve been harassing both my host and the plugin devs all week about it and they’re as stumped as I am).
TLDR; a *free* plugin which supports card payment processing for memberships to view the site/store. TIA
