I’ve had a self-hosted WP site for many years, with many blog posts and way too many plugins. I’ve backed up the blog posts and want to start fresh with the site, using the same domain name, but no blog.
So I’ve created a new WP installation, at public\_html/abc2. Original install is public\_html/abc. I want to change DNS servers for [mysite.com]) from abc to abc2.
I’ve done this a couple times, but it’s been years, and want to make sure I get it right. IIRC, I change the WP Address URL and Site Address URL to [mysite.com]), at the new site. Then with Cpanel, point the domain name to abc2. Does that sound right?
I remember once getting this wrong, and had to dig into Mysql to change the site name at the new installation.
