I’m not seeing the issue myself under Safari 16.6 with macOS 13.5.2 and WordPress 6.3.1.

Would you please try with all of your Safari extensions deactivated? If that fixes the problem, reactivate each one by one until the problem returns.

If that makes no difference, would you please use to provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing when you try to write or edit a post/page in Safari?

@macmanx So the WordPress stuf have access to our personal websites?

How do you edit the post even of another person, it means we are not safe?

No @norway12 we have no more access than any normal visitor, nor do we want any more than that. WordPress.org sites are entirely self-contained and only accessible to the site owner and whomever else they specifically give access to.

In this case, I simply double-checked on my own site running WordPress 6.3.1

The only extension I use with Safari is Bitwarden. Turning it off did not fix the problem. Image link: https://snipboard.io/raY6mC.jpg

Coincidentally, this also happened with the link tool in TinyLetter which I use for my newsletter. I have to edit links manually. So it feels like a Safari issue.

Ah, the tools wouldn’t be appearing up there, they should be appearing above the block once you click into it:

I should have been more clear. That screen shot was taken after clicking in to a block. They do no appear under any circumstance.

They still wouldn’t appear up there though, they appear right above the block, as illustrated in the first screenshot on the page I linked to.

But. If they aren’t appearing anywhere, try deactivating Bitwarden and then clearing your cache, then check again.

Also, is this in the Post/Page editor, or the Site Editor?

Oh, and make sure you haven’t disabled JavaScript in Safari.

Figured it out. The tools were not appearing above the selected block until I turned off Top Toolbar (see screenshot). I never reset that element, so one of the updates must have broken it. https://snipboard.io/vaMUuC.jpg

In any ever, the problem is solved. Thanks for your patience and guidance.
