Posts not indexing in Google

[ad_1]

I was looking at my stats on Google search console, and there were a ton of posts that were not indexed. When I tried to do this manually it said that the robots meta tag was set to “no index”. When I view the page source though, the meta tag is set to index and follow.

On top of that, when I was researching how to fix the problem, one of the solutions was to edit the .htaccess file, which I can’t find anywhere. Even if I “show hidden files” in FileZilla.

Does anyone know why I’m getting this conflicting information?

TIA

  1. If you’re on an NGINX server you likely don’t have an htaccess file. What are you using for SEO? AIO? Yoast? Rank math? Check your settings to make sure you don’t have it set to not index posts.
