Hi all,
So I’m familiar with web design and dev (front-end) in general, as in HTML/CSS/JS. So I pick up builders quickly, used Avada, Beaver, Divi, Elementor, etc. It’s all very similar to me, once you understand how a website is laid out in HTML/CSS, I feel that all builders are easy to learn.
The clients I have are very non-technical (not in the US, most people here aren’t tech savvy). So they want something simple, and they always go with a theme + builder. And it’s not a wealthy country, so honestly even taking the time/effort to code a site from scratch on their budgets isn’t feasible. So I just use whichever builder they want. My frustration is that as great as some builders are, there’s always limitations. Like I can appreciate Elementor for integrating flexbox for example, but my styling for certain things (buttons, animations, etc) are limited to the theme. Basically the site can never have that “unique touch”, you’re limited to the theme’s capabilities.
Then I read about Bricks:
Correct me if I’m wrong, but is Bricks a sort of middle ground between a visual builder and code? For example, I can build out the structure and layout using the builder, but if I wanted a button that has unique animations (from Codepen for example), can I just easily slot that in on the webpage? For example, if I wanted to include a custom tabs element from Codepen like this: , is it possible? Inserting an element with its own HTML/CSS/JS? I really hope that’s the case, will be a game changer for me.
Also, if anyone knows of other tools similar to this that are widely used, let me know that as well please. Basically a builder where you can slot in your own HTML/CSS/JS elements.
Thanks a lot!
