I’ve never really bought a wordpress theme before, since I’ve only used some of the wordpress org free to use themes. I found a nice theme on the “themeforest” website which says “Quality checked by Envato”. Is the Envato market a good store to buy a wordpress theme or should I avoid them? And do they offer lifetime payments for these themes or do I have to pay them yearly? Most of the theme stores I found are selling subscription services (50-60$ per year). The themeforest / elvato store just says “regular licence”. Does anyone if it’s a one time purchase (the theme is listed for 59$)?

I have purchased numerous items from Envato/Themeforest and they are a trustworthy and reputable company. One of the nice things about them is that all purchases are stored in a Download library, so if you need the software again, it is easy to find.
Themes are typically sold at a one-time fee. A standard license means that you are allowed to use it for one website.
Be sure that the theme that you choose is actively maintained. Look at the ‘changelog’ file to see how often the code is updated.
