Hi, everyone. I signed up with Wix a couple months ago but now want to re-build the website from scratch in WordPress. It’s a very simple small business advertising site with no commerce features. I don’t consider migrating because I want to make sure I got clean code and start anew. I’m now running the WordPress website on a local host however I’m a bit unsure if I’m taking the right steps.
I’ve bought my domain from a third party and am now looking for a hosting provider as Wix is my host on the older website. Is this logically the next step I need to be making when re-building? I’ve had a look at r/webhosting and I’m probably going to choose one of the sidebar suggestions. I’ve watched many videos and read about creating a site with WordPress software but I still feel like a toddler.
Thanks so much in advance to anyone who answers.

Yep. You need to start researching hosting. There are many different options. Shared hosting, virtual cloud hosting, dedicated machine hosting, managed WP hosting, etc. They all have pros/cons.
If you want to keep it simple and don’t mind spending a little extra money, I recommend managed WordPress hosting. Managing a server is a pain when you’re trying to learn WordPress at the same time.
