Okay, I’ve looked at a dozen or so giveaway/raffle plugins and all of them seem to have the underlying intention of driving marketing and signups and whatnot – they’re overly complex, convoluted, and WAY more powerful than I’ll ever need (not to mention, more expensive than I’ll need for two or three giveaways per year). And there are tons more that haven’t been updated in a decade or so, cluttering the results
I don’t need to get more signups, I just want something to choose a random existing member (based on role or membership status) to win a prize. Seems like it should be super simple, but I’m overwhelmed with everything I’ve found so far.
Can anyone suggest a plugin or even a code snippet that will do the job for me? Ideally it would show a list of all members it selecting from, or at least a total count of them (for transparency), but it doesn’t really need to do any more than that.

You’re leaving out some critical info… like, is your website actually being used as a membership site? If so, what plugin are you using? If not, don’t use WP for this.
