Reducing cover image size

[ad_1]

I'm brand new to WordPress and am mostly intuiting things as I go along. It's going well(ish) so far, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to reduce the height of the cover image.

Things I've tried:

  • Dragging the cover with the slider. It hits about 750 px and stops
  • Reducing min height with the source code. This does nothing
  • Changing themes. The Lovecraft theme seems able to do this, but has very limited customization
  • Cropping the image. The cover just zooms in. I've also widened it on Photoshop, but same problem.

I'd like to get it looking like the banner image on this website here, but the cover refuses to get as short:

I'm aware there must be a solution for such a silly problem, but I can't figure it out. I'm on the the most basic, free tier, and was hoping someone might be able to help a total noob out. I'm using the Infield theme. Thanks!

  1. It’s not exactly obvious what you mean by “cover image”. A screenshot or link to the page that displays this image would be helpful.
