Replace lots of images at once

[ad_1]

Hi guys. Picked up a new client this week that wants me to maintain their website.

Issue is that their website is very slow. Saw s couple of double plugins (as example 4 different plugins for forms) and some others that made it slower.

But they also have 272 media files, all in 4K JPG format. I want to swap these to a lower format and webp. Does anyone know how i cab do this without having to replace every single one manually?

And maybe some other tips to improve overall speed. Thanks alot!

  1. A CDN can serve the images as WebP on the fly without having to replace the source files.

  2. W3 Total Cache has feature that will automatically convert images to WEBP. That might help you do it quickly.

  3. Imagify will do an auto compress of your image library. I think the free version is limited a bit but the pro version will do it all.

  4. Here – Download all those media
    – convert all of them into webp using any software
    Like tinypng just Google it

    – upload all of them,
Go to media filter the pic using webp format only

    Or name every media
Let’s say a post is on apple, so —-
    Apple, apple 1 apple 2 apple 3.

    And replace them

I don’t trust this smush or smash
They do not work for me, an image that Is optimized first will always work better than plugin compressed
