The website broke. I’m not exactly sure how. I don’t think any plugins or WP itself was on auto-update. So it remains a mystery to me. I get a white screen of death. When I disable the themes folder in wp\_content, it at least gives me access to the admin panel. So I assume it’s something to do with the theme.
Anyways, I have a backup from 1 month ago when the website was working fine, and I upload it and the database to a new host and domain (just to test if it’s working).
It’s not working. How could that be? The day that I downloaded the backup files and database, it was working. But now it’s not. I don’t understand. I tried it with WP not updated and updated.
I don’t even understand how the theme broke when nobody updated the plugins or WP itself since.

Perhaps the version of PHP running on the hosting server has been updated recently?
I see a lot of WordPress themes out there that have not had an update in a long time, and which require PHP 7 to be used on the server for compatibility reasons.
Do not change any folder names. Enable debugging so you can see the error message.
