roll back All In One WP Security update

[ad_1]

Our IT Manager and my coworker who did all the back-end work both quit a month ago, so I need help to roll back a plugin update that has caused problems.

I updated All In One WP Security to 5.1.0 after seeing a prompt on my plugins page, and it broke our ability to login. The site was still working, but attempts to login, even by Admins, produced a “critical error” message.

Installed phpMyAdmin as suggested by the WP error message and deleted the code that activated All In One WP Security. We were able to login again. So far, so good.

However, off-site editors are still seeing a 404 when attempting to log in. Plus, All In One WP Security is currently turned off, so I can’t see if they are locked out or not. I think since it is deactivated at the moment, it can’t lock them out, so it may be a problem at their work site.

The plugins page usually indicates if a proposed update in incompatible with our version of WP or php, but this had no warning. So, I am asking how to roll back the plugin to a version that worked with our level of php (don’t know what it is) and the WP platform – 5.9.1.

I see that there are updates available for our themes, but I’m too busy doing my own job to do all the available updates while waiting for us to hire replacements.

Thanks in advance.
