So I am working on a personal project, and I want to be able to scale up or down this wordpress AMI

My question, how would you scale instances based on this AMI, as they give you a new username, etc for every new instance of this AMI you launch?
Would you first have to sign in, make your blog, and after that, make your own AMI based on everything has been set up(after your write your blogs essentially), and then base your architecture off the new AMI you made(where you set everything up)?
