I’m trying to find a plugin for WordPress that will let visitors book a conference room. I’ve been using Pixelite’s Events Manager and WP FullCalendar, but lately this setup is having issues. Sometimes it will work fine, other times users get “Trying to perform an illegal action” when they submit a booking. It seems like logging into WordPress and then having the user refresh the page makes it work temporarily. Not even changing settings, just touching the WordPress dashboard somehow fixes it. This is happening on multiple sites (on the same host). All of them have the latest updates to WordPress and the plugins, and these are the only plugins being used other than the hosting site’s panel thing.
Anyway, I’m fed up and want a different plugin that’s reliable, but can’t find one that does all the same stuff as Events Manager / Fullcalendar.
Ideally I want:
\-Flexible time slots during the day (not just 1hr or 30mins).
\-Ability to add bookings as a guest / anonymous, so users don’t need to create an account
\-Intuitive calendar and booking form
\-Ability to auto-approve bookings, without needing the admin to manually confirm
\-Prevent overlapping bookings
\-Recurring events (optional, but nice)
I don’t need too many other bells and whistles. I only have one room per website, I’m not charging or processing payments, I don’t need email notifications, and I don’t need to book staff or services. I just want people to see the calendar showing when the room is available, and let them reserve times.
At this point I’ve tried just about everything that comes up under “Bookings” in the plugin search, and none of them do what I want (either they’re set up for hotels / full-day bookings, they require lots of admin babysitting, they require users to sign up for an account, they only allow single 1-hr time slots, etc etc).
Free would be nice, but I’m willing to go with a paid option if anyone has a good recommendation!
