I've mainly used WordPress in the past to run blogs and help others set up eCommerce sites, though it's been about 7-10 years since I last worked with it. Nowadays, I'm a woodworker looking to sell my products online. I've considered Shopify for its simplicity, but the cost of add-ons quickly escalates, turning the $29.99 plan into something closer to $100 a month. That's what keeps drawing me back to WordPress.
I have some experience with Astra and Elementor from back in the day, but I've read that Elementor can slow down a site significantly. I'm looking for a simple, easy-to-maintain website—nothing too complicated. I'd really appreciate any recommendations or advice you might have. Thank you
I would use a simple theme like GeneratePress, Storefront, or 2024 with WooCommerce and the bare minimum plugins needed to get started. The foundation should be lean but strong and future proof, and you can always add or modify features down the road. It’s definitely possible to launch a small WooCommerce store for way less than $100 a month, as long as you’ve an overall idea of how things work and are comfortable managing them yourself.
Elementor is one of best page builder i like it.
