SEO plugins and focused keyword

[ad_1]

Yeh so I am getting really frustrated because I just can’t seem to understand this whole seo thing. And i’ve been reading for years and it’s just very hard to understand for me.

So let me give me some information to a better understanding.
I am creating a blog website about motivation, inspiration and self growth. Oke I know, it’s cliche but it’s something I like and I don’t plan on getting rich fast so anyways.. I gues the main keywords would be motivation, inspiration and self-growth but these are so short that I will never rank for those keywords. So to my understanding, people use long tail keywords and stuff like that right? So we are past a time that you can use 1 keyword and rank for it. We should use way longer keyword phrases and be very specific right? So please help me out;

When I use chatgpt and ask to give me some good seo titles for motivation. It will spit out some titles like this:

10 Daily Habits That Will Boost Your Motivation and Productivity

How to Overcome Self-Doubt and Find Your Inner Strength

I will then let chatgpt create a list of LSI keywords for that title. It spits out a list of around 15 keywords and I write a blog with those keywords. But thats a list of 15 keywords and all the seo plugins ask for a focused keyword and the seo score is based on that focused keyword. This whole seo stuff is just so confusing and I’m kinda lost. Best case scenario would be to just write what I want but at the end it would be nice to gain some traffic so I do have to focus on seo a bit.

But even if I think of a topic myself, lets say “10 Daily Habits That Will Boost Your Motivation and Productivity”. I use ahref and start to look for good keywords. I end up with a list probably long tail keywords. Then I get back to writing the post, and then every seo plugin ends up with asking me for a focused keyword or else I get a bad score.

Also sorry for the messy post, hopefully someone understands me and has some tips

I’m just lost and need some help in the right direction it’s really frustrating

  1. Google does not care if you target 1 keyword or 10. The problem you face is, all other factors being equal, a competitor who only targets one word on a page will always beat a page which targets multiple words.

    Ranking in search engines is purely a competition. I recommend you go all out and try to rank #1 (or as high as reasonably possibly). Once you have achieved top rankings for your primary keyword, THEN you can try to get greedy and diversify to multiple keywords.

  2. I’ll bet you all that confusion and frustration goes away once you start creating content for your audience and not Google’s algorithms.

  3. If you’re using Yoast the keyword that you put in the keyword input will have absolutely zero bearing on the pages SEO. This focus keyword is simply an internal metric that yoast uses to score your page against.
