Setting up search console on site

[ad_1]

Hi there, I’m trying to verify search console on my WordPress site via dns records but keep failing miserably.

I use namecheap as my registrar and Bluehost for my hosting and cannot seem to find anyway to set up the dns hosting as search console only gives me the options of txt or cname.

I’ve tried going to the dns records on bluehost and adding it there but when I try to add txt it tells me there’s an existing cname blocking it and vice versa the other way around. Even when deleting cname files I get an error here.

I’ve also tried doing it from cpanel but I can only add mx files. I’ve tried doing it through namecheap but because the nameservers are pointing to bluehost so I have to use custom dns.

Can anybody please help and let me know how I can set up search console via dns records.
