Enhanced Gutenberg?

[ad_1]

**Intro**

I’ve had a few hits and misses trying to set something up with Elementor and other such secondary design plugins for wordpress.

I end up pulling my hair out figuring out which bit is controlled by WP and which is controlled by the theme plugin.

So I tried to just see how far I got with 2024 theme and plain gutenberg.

My (first) problem is that I want to pick my own fonts. And I’m sure I’ll find many more such problems.

So I got to thinking:

**The Question**

Is there a plugin that enhances Gutenberg, rather than overrides it? Stuff like adding your own fonts (or adobe fonts or whatever), and things of that nature. Adding missing features. So far I haven’t even found an easy way to add adobe fonts to the site, in any way. Very weird.

Or is this nuts and should I just approach this from a completely different perspective?

**Where I’m coming from**

I’m a graphic designer, I want to make a blog, a place to write which isn’t in the middle of a metaphorical bus terminal. As a designer, I’m plagued with making the bloody thing look nice, so I need design controls. I learned to use Webflow, but I can’t imagine using webflow designs via plugins is gonna be a comfortable experience. I just wanna avoid running into walls, I want to spend not too much time making the thinglook nice enough.

So.

What do you recommend?

  1. For you since you’re coming from Webflow… check out Pinegrow. I moved away from Webflow when I discovered it.

In the mean time learn HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP.

You can make anything look nice with just html and css.
