Want to change blog Posts to /blog/postname without messing up pages and products

[ad_1]

Hey,

I want to change the permalink for my blog Posts from /postname to /blog/postname without messing up the permalinks for my pages and products. I should have created the custom structure to /blog/postname at the beginning, but I didn’t. Bad on me.

I am planning on going to WordPress Settings — Permalinks and changing to the custom structure to /blog/postname, and then using a 301 redirect for all my old blog posts to redirect them to the new permalink. I have about 20 posts.

1. Does sound like the right way to go? I don’t have the skills to mess with .htaccess.
2. I want to be very sure that this won’t mess up the permalinks for my pages, products, and a glossary and knowledge base I’ve build with about 1,000 of those. They’re indexed by Google and we’re getting traffic and I want to be very sure I don’t mess those up.

Thanks for the input!
