I installed the free version of Simple Author Box some ½ year ago, I think, and it worked fine.
Some days ago, I noticed that the box is not showing. Hadn’t thought of it before, so I don’t know exactly when and why it stopped working.
But I haven’t made any settings changes, so the only reason can be update of either the plugin or WordPress (or both) as I see it.
Really don’t know how to start locating the error.
I have tried to deactivate and reactivate it again. Would rather not remove the plugin if it isn’t necessary, because then I would have to configure it all over.
