HI, how do you guys find clients that need a new website? I mailed a lot of people but most of them are not interested because they find their website OK enough. Some didn’t respond. I love to make websites but I am not that great in selling them. Please tell me your succes factors!

Find people who do not have a website, or start ups. Go through your city and look for New shops, and swing by.
Getting customers is a lot about networking or Word by mouth to mouth – or ADS of course.
Go and meet them. Mailing is not efficient at all.

Word of mouth is on point. I’ve been doing this a long time, so people find me through referrals or wp events etc.
Mail or email? Both are generally ineffective. Try local small business searches and see who the first 5 businesses are.
Then see if those businesses have a website. Only contact the businesses that don’t have a website.

Word of mouth is the most powerful marketing tool to date.
Try making or refreshing websites of people in your network.
– Have a friend who started a side hustle? Build them a website.
– Know a family member who’s site still looks like it came from the 90s? Build them a site.
– Are you a regular at a local store? Ask them if you can revamp their site for them.
– Ask your friends if they know anyone who needs site work done.
I would even argue that in the beginning, do a handful (2-3) of projects at cost to build up a portfolio. Do a good job. Ask the website owner to refer you to others.
That’s how I got started. Built a website for next to nothing for a family member. Did an amazing job. Business people in their network started asking ‘who built your site?’ and I started getting one referral after the next.
