Substack Importer plugin stuck in infinite loop!

[ad_1]

Last night, I tried to import my zipped export folder from Substack to my WordPress site using the Substack Importer plugin. All began fine, the loading bar appeared indicating that the import had begun. At the rate it was going, it seemed like it was going to take several hours, so I left it going and went to bed. My computer did not turn off, log out, or go to sleep overnight.

Today, I check it and the loading bar is gone, the Tools > Import page is blank, and when I reload the page and run Substack Importer again, it tells me “An import is already in progess, you can start a new import or continue the previous import,” with a button to continue the previous.

But whether I start a new import, nothing happens. When I click to continue the previous import, the loading bar reappears, loads to 100% very quickly, and then disappears, and the page goes blank again.

Any ideas on how to break this loop? I’ll just manually copy over posts if I have to, I just don’t want this lingering in the background of my website and come back to haunt me. I have already tried clearing browser cache and flushed my site’s cache through my webhost, and that did nothing.
