I am discussing a potential development for an ecommerce site. I wanted to know if you could help me with some suggestions on plugins for this kind of thing since it’s been a while since I’ve worked with wordpress and I also have some questions.
Is the performance affected by the amount of products?
Is there any hosting that you would recommend especially for a high traffic site?
how long would you say would be a good estimate in terms of development (let’s say you have more than 1000 products approximately)?
in terms of features, it is just going to be your normal ecommerce with a lot of products with the option of online payments.
Any suggestions, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Well, when you hear wordpress and ecommerce, woocommerce is whispering into your ears begging you to download it. The performance wouldnt really be a problem, if youre running a good hosting, and tbh, product adding is more of their job, developer hours are expensive, if they dont know that, take 10hrs to put 1000 products, or maybe ask them for an xls file, and import that thing. Either way, woocommerce and all plugins that come with it, my recommendation. Theme wise, you can make your own if you know how to…
Also, would recommend some security plugin, if its a high traffic site, since bots are probably gonna try and raid, and also CORS, look into that

Use WP all import or something similar to map everything and submit products in a single csv file, that’s your fastest bet. If you’re doing it manually one by one, I’d say you’ll be doing this whole week.
