Suppresses “New User Registration” email notifications

First, kudos on a Captcha plugin that actually worked after I tried many others! My only issue is that it prevents me from receiving “New User Registration” notification emails when real people create accounts.

I installed the “Manage Notification E-mails” plugin and expressly enabled the “New user notification to site admin” option but it had no effect.

Is there a way to find out what’s breaking the notification process and either modify it or work around it?
