Switching from my theme and back solves an issue. Why?

[ad_1]

Hi,

I’m trying to understand the source of a problem for which I found a temporary fix.

So I have a shortcode from CusRev that displays reviews obtained through this plugin. In this shortcode, I select IDs for the Woocommerce products of which I’d like the review displayed.

At some point in time, it stops working with seemingly no reason: no changes on the website, no editing of any product. But it never fails, at some point, to show “no review to show”, as if there were no reviews for any of the products in the shortcode.

Then, I noticed that upon switching from my child theme to the main theme, or any theme, the review are shown again. **I can then go back to my child theme immediatly, and the reviews are still there**… for a time (I’m talking about several days to 2 weeks maybe, hard to tell).

I don’t understand how switching from my child theme and going back to it can solve an issue, as it looks like going back to square one. What, in the process of switch themes back and forth, could solve my problem?

Note: I’m not necessarly looking for a fix to my issue, even though that would be great. I’m more like trying to understand what is happening and what is at play here (plugins, DB, my custom code…)
