Switching from self coded theme to Elementor theme

So I want to remake a website with Elementor but the main theme used has been fully coded by a front end developper in intern. My question is, if I start to use Elementor and use the Hello theme, will this break the website or should I start it from scratch on a whole new WordPress with Elementor?
