Why do I have to do something different with this plugin?
You don’t have to do something different with this plugin, you just need to review the descriptions on each payment gateway settings page.
You have 2 options for Google Pay when using this plugin:
- You can enable the Google Pay gateway which requires you to complete an integration step with the Google API team. Our docs cover that step by step.
- You can enable the Payment Request Gateway, which has a Google Pay integration. That gateway has no additional setup steps and is similar to the integration from the other Stripe plugin you’re referring to.
Each option has it’s pros and cons, so it’s up to you to determine which gateway best fits your needs.

I understand that now. If anything, I would put the Payment Request Gateway tab before the Google Pay tab. If others, like me, are coming from the other plugin and already have Google Pay operational, then it will make more sense to them, just a suggestion for a better user experience.
